Employees of the Department of Economic Security and Anti-Corruption of the Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Volzhsky, in cooperation with colleagues from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Volgograd oblast, detained seven local residents. The director of a commercial organization and his acquaintances are suspected of illegal use of means of individualization of goods committed by an organized group.
It was previously established that illegal activity was carried out on the territory of an industrial enterprise. Along with the production of washing powder of their own registered trademark, the offenders organized the manufacture of household chemicals under the trademarks of a well-known global manufacturer. Counterfeit goods were supplied to several regions of Russia, as well as to one of the neighboring countries.
During searches and inspections of vehicles, the police seized 8.5 thousand packages of washing powder and almost three thousand bottles of detergent with signs of counterfeiting, as well as packaging materials and other items of evidentiary value. According to experts, the damage caused to copyright holders amounted to more than 6.5 million rubles.
The investigator of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Volzhsky initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under part 4 of Article 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. A measure of procedural coercion in the form of an obligation to appear" applies to the defendants, said Irina Volk, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.
