In Kazan eliminated large illegal production of motor oils over 80 mln rub

Employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, together with police officers from the Republic of Tatarstan, detained suspects in the production and sale of counterfeit motor oils under the brands of well-known world manufacturers. “On the territory of the cities of Moscow and Kazan, more than 30 searches were carried out in the office, industrial, warehouse premises, as well as in the places of residence of the intruders. More than 17 tons of engine oil were found and seized,” said Irina Volk, an official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. Documentation and other items of evidentiary value for a criminal case were also seized. The total amount of damage to copyright holders amounted to over 80 million rubles. A criminal case was initiated under Part 3 of Art. 180 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation; three detained defendants were released on recognizance not to leave.
